Tehran States It Could Resume US Nuclear Talks provided that Handled with 'Respect' and 'Respect'
Tehran is willing to reinitiate atomic negotiations with Washington on condition that it is approached with "respect" and "honor", Iran's top diplomat has announced.
The Iranian diplomat stated solely negotiations worked, and disclosed new appeals had been made by mediators to reopen talks with the American leadership. He claimed Iran did not have secret atomic facilities, and Iran was not yet able to allow the global atomic watchdog to inspect bombed nuclear sites for protective measures.
Walking a Challenging Path
Araghchi is treading a challenging course since Iran wishes not to be seen to be operating from a stance of disadvantage, and he insisted repeatedly that Iran had arisen more resilient militarily and emotionally from the joint assault on its nuclear sites in June.
He was addressing at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to process nuclear material within its borders that it will never give up" – the key factor of the impasse in the earlier negotiations.
Previous Negotiations Suddenly Concluded
The earlier sessions of discussions between the United States and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and hostile conclusion on 12 June when Israel, with Washington's assistance, attacked Iran's enrichment centers in a fortnight-long engagement that ended with the US president asserting the facilities had been destroyed. Subsequently, EU nations employed their right to reimpose international penalties, but Iran asserts they have not had a significant effect.
Ideal Resolution Proposed
Iranian officials claimed they felt they had attained a "magic solution" to the enrichment issue in prior discussions, when it was decided an domestic cooperative with American involvement could process nuclear material. Both sides would have been able to claim victory since local refinement would have persisted and the US could be certain that Iran's atomic project was entirely non-military.
It had not been settled in the negotiations that Washington's technical specialists could work on Iranian soil, but that was a reasonable assumption of the cooperative offer. Diplomats stated repeatedly they had achieved a deal with the US representative Steve Witkoff only for the deal to collapse due to "detractors in America".
Current Status
Iran's diplomats declared the cooperative arrangement was now no longer available, but it seems very probable the offer could be reintroduced in some form if talks resume.
The US president in recent days said he had been getting signals that Iran sought to resume discussions, but in private Tehran representatives say they are not yet getting coherent offers from America either straightforwardly or from significant local go-betweens, such as Qatar, Egypt, Oman and Saudi Arabia. The Iran's state department has been criticized of passivity in the wake of Washington's unmediated tactics, but Tehran states negotiations is not part of a show.
Diplomatic Position
In his remarks to the forum, aimed to portray the US as a hegemonic power that exploits the idea of global regulations, Araghchi stated the 12-day war revealed the dispute could not be ended by military means. He asserted the attacks began with a American requirement for an unconditional Iranian surrender and concluded with an complete request for a halt to hostilities.
Iran is assured the first strikes by Israel were carried out with total Washington understanding and collaboration, making faith difficult to reestablish.
Negotiations Continues the Ultimate Solution
Araghchi declared: "It was not Iran that had fled dialogue; it was the United States and the Western nations that had consistently tried to dictate their demands during the negotiations. Dialogue can still be viable and continues the final solution to address disputes, but its criteria, rules and fundamentals must be respected."
"Provided that they address to the nation of Iran with the tone of dignity and respect, they will receive a answer in the identical approach."
Restoration and Recovery
In what is characterized by Iran's diplomats as the struggle of repair and reconstruction, Araghchi said he was assured Iran's security strengths "have significantly improved than before 13 or 14 June of this year. Every aspect of our defense have been reestablished. We learned many lessons from this conflict; we have identified our internal vulnerabilities and the shortcomings of the enemy."
He continued: "We managed to survive this conflict. Our enrichment knowledge, which they intended to eliminate, stays intact. The sites and machinery, if damaged, will be rebuilt; what is important is the resolve of the nation of Iran and then the social solidarity that they targeted, but failed to break. The nation of Iran have developed more powerful, more integrated, and more supportive of the administration and the country in the face of this attack."
